Milk Tanker Air Filtration

The DEFRA approved Foramaflow STC/3 Tanker Vent is extensively used on road going milk tankers throughout Foot and Mouth infected areas. The Foramaflow STC/3 provides protection from airborne microbiological infections during filling and emptying road side operations eradicating the risk of spreading infection during routine tanker deliveries and collections.

This filter system was independently trialed by the Ministry on Scottish milk tankers and testing of the Foramaflow filter was carried out before and after the practical road and milk collection trials on road going milk tankers. The testing of the STC/3 filter was carried out to BS 3928 and was carried out by The Chemical and Biological Defence Establishment Porton Down.

Independent Testing: The testing of this Foramaflow filter system was conducted to BS 3928 and was carried out independently by the Chemical and Biological Defence Establishment at Porton Down: After practical use on the test milk tanker following a typical multiple milk collection and discharge cycle, the STC/3 filter element was challenged at a flow rate of 400l/min using an atomised cloud of sodium chloride particles having a size range of 0.02 up to to 2.00 microns: The efficiency achieved across the filter was 99.9995% with a pressure drop of less than 0.07 Kpa (<0.01psi). The pressure drop was in fact less than the pressure sensor could detect.
